Juxta Postions

Juxta means "next to each other". In photography, juxta positions mean two picture elements that are placed next to each other, although they actually have nothing to do with each other. Our brain is always looking for connections and patterns. This is how we find meaning in the scene, which can be profound or funny.

"I love working with juxta positions. Wherever I can I look for the poetic or the whimsical on my walks around the city. A good juxta photo saves my worst day."
